Music to Fight Human Trafficking

11/24/2019 6:46 AM | Douglas Gilbert

One of the ways that I direct my creative energies is to write songs that address the fight to end human trafficking and homelessness. It is my desire to organize musical concerts to raise funds to support local non profit groups such as Just Ask Prevention and NOVA HTI as well as Operation Underground Railroad and The Exodus Road.

I am also interested in repairing old musical instruments (guitars, ukuleles, etc.), to give to victims so that they may have a musical outlet for healing. I like to co-write and would welcome other SAW members in organizing a concert to benefit these groups.

I have a song I'm working on called Half the Sky... about sex trafficking. This is inspiring me to finish it. Thanks!
