Immediate Release Performance
Workshop WASHINGTON, DC: The Songwriters' Association of Washington (SAW) will present a Performance Workshop conducted by Bernie Muller-Thym, formerly of the now-defunct national touring (and longtime DC favorite) group, DaVinci’s Notebook, on Saturday, February 9 from 12:30pm-3:00pm in Alexandria, VA. Muller-Thym will put his 20-plus years of performance experience to the test by asking participants the questions, and providing the answers, that will lead to better performance. Performers of all levels looking to shake their jitters or determine what will work for them, night after night, or maybe only on an occasional night, are encouraged to attend this interactive workshop--bring yourself, your guitar, a song, some gumption and the willingness to fail (but eventually succeed)! Muller-Thym has been artist-in-residence at the Kennedy Center, made appearances on Comedy Central, The Today Show, PBS, and has been heard on countless other radio stations and stages across America--and YouTube! Cost: $30 (SAW/WAMA/BSA/NSAI members) in advance; $35 at the door, $40 non-members in advance; $45 at the door Special offer for non-SAW members: Become a new SAW member with your workshop registration and pay only $60 for a one year SAW membership and your workshop registration (new members only). Date: Saturday, February 9, 2008 (12:30pm-4:00pm) Place: The Lab at Convergence, 1819 N. Quaker Lane, Alexandria VA. (Take the Shirlington exit off of I-395 and follow the signs to Quaker Lane, then take the second left on Crestwood Drive. The Lab is the first building on the left (large brick building), with the entrance facing Crestwood Drive) For more information about the Songwriters Association of Washington or to register for the workshop, visit www.saw.org or call (301) 654-8434.
