SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

The Mid Atlantic Song Contest is NOW OPEN. Not only that--in honor of our 25th MASC, in addition to the fantastic Grand, Second and Third prizes you already know about-- we will be giving $100 to each Gold Winner in each category. $100 will buy you at least ONE tank of gas these days, so we're happy to facilitate the Gold Winner attendance at the big 25th anniversary of MASC/ 30th anniversary of SAW Gala in the winter. This is going to be a wing-ding of an event and the date will be announced later this year.

There are eleven categories in all this year. Categories are Adult Contemporary, Rock, Acoustic and Folk, Country and Bluegrass, Pop, R&B /rap/urban, Children's, Vocal Jazz/Blues, Inspirational/Gospel/Christian, Instrumental, and the Open category for those songs which don't fit in the categories above.

This year Two Special Prizes will be awarded: The Young Artist Prize the best song for which all writers are 21 or under receives $100. The International Prize for the best song, for which all co-writers reside outside of the US, receives $100. Conditions for both of these prizes must be met on the day of the deadline September 15.

REMEMBER: Honorable Mentions from prior years CAN be submitted to the contest!

Entries are a deal for SAW members, so we're offering the chance to join SAW for $25 in honor of the 25th anniversary.

We prefer online entries but you may enter this contest via mail but you MUST use the application form posted here on June 14. COME TO THE COMMUNITY DAY / ANNUAL MEETING ON THAT DAY TO PICK UP YOUR HARD COPY! You must be a SAW member to submit using the SAW member discount package. Your entries are subject to disqualification if you are not a member and submit using the incorrect package. You may renew your membership in SAW through Sonicbids or through saw.org , either will get you the snazzy new membership card.

SPECIAL PRIZES

YOUNG ARTIST PRIZE: $100 cash prize to be awarded to the top song submitted by a songwriter aged 21 or younger at time of contest deadline (all co-writers must be under 21). The total prize of $100 is given to the submitting songwriter.
 
NEW! International Prize: $100 cash prize to be awarded to top song submitted by a songwriter residing outside of the US. ALL co-writers must reside outside of the United States at the time of
contest deadline to be eligible for this prize.  The total prize of $100 is given to the submitting songwriter.
