NEW! Photo booth: Been trying forever to get a good photo of the whole band? Now’s your chance.
Song Circle: Our informal song circle will run most of the day, hopefully outside!
First Impressions:
An excellent opportunity to get feedback from local music leaders on your original songs.
MASC Compilation CD: Loralyn Coles, MASC Director, will
officially unveil the 32th Winners’ compilation CD
PLUS: networking, door prizes, dinner, and more performances!

Vocal Workshop with Siobhan Quinn (12:45)
Siobhán Quinn will help you discover your unique vocal sound and individual vocal personality in this workshop. We’ll work to explore and enhance your voice, and develop a personal basic regimen to develop vocal flexibility. Material covered: vocal/breath warm-ups; physiology of the voice & how to use each part; specific issues and exercises (eg, posture with instrument, lack of breath, singing flexibly within your range, positioning and strengthening exercises to shake out the unsteady parts of your voice), and mapping your song to translate the emotional intention of a song effectively.

"Chord Grammar" with Matt Holsen (2:00)
Even if you don’t remember the rules of language grammar, you know those rules instinctively. The same can be said for music construction.  Learn about the music theory you know but were never taught - circle of fifths, relative minor substitution, tritone substitution, transitions and more  - and how it can open up the doors to constructing better sounding and more confidently structured songs in any genre. Accessible to novice songwriters and still informative to more experienced writers.

"Putting it All Together" with Zach Parkman (2:00)
Do some of your best songs remain half complete in some form of literary or musical limbo? The path from great idea to finished song is often paved with reluctantly abandoned efforts. But you can finish that unpolished gem and add it to your repertoire. Zack Parkman discusses how to push through the mid song slump and finish what you started. Strategies for completing and reworking music and lyrical ideas will help you bring it home.
