BOARD OF DIRECTORS |
| Linda Hiserman, Vice President Linda was born in Leesburg, VA, and currently lives in Ashburn, and has two children, Brett and Amy. She has been active in SAW for over 12 years and served as Volunteer Coordinator for seven of those years before assuming the Vice Presidency in 2003. Linda is an award-winning member of ASCAP and writes Children's, Christian, Educational, Theatre, Adult Contemporary, and a little Country. In 1998, the American Music Stage commissioned Linda to write and compose original material for "The Sleeping Beauty Musical." In 1999, she started her own publishing company, "How High Publishing," to market an educational program called "Did You Know?", a musical based on the Social Studies Curriculum for the Third Grade Standards of Learning Test in Virginia. Well over 150 copies of Linda's musical have been purchased by school systems and educators statewide. Along with her friend Jennifer Cowett, Linda has produced a series of educational programs for children of all ages, "Movin' Groovin' Kids," which introduce children to different cultures through music. Linda continues to write family-oriented educational and musical theatre programs. A winner of numerous songwriting awards, Linda is living proof that you don't have to become a skilled performer to be a successful songwriter. She encourages members and non-members alike to participate in SAW activities and join in the fun. It's a great way to meet other songwriters and network with your music. For the last two years, Linda along with a partner, Lynne Russell have written a fairytale musical entitled "Helena's Wish." Linda has written and composed all l5 songs for the show and she and her partner are now marketing this show to Community Theaters and High Schools across the area. |
